Auction Site Remove Controversial Nike Trainers From Sale

AUCTION SITE REMOVES CONTROVERSIAL 'BETSY ROSS' NIKE TRAINERS AFTER BEING ON SALE FOR THOUSANDS
A streetwear auction site has removed a pair of controversial Niketrainers from sale, saying that the product does reflect the company's "value system".
Earlier this week, it was announced that Nike had cancelled the release of a pair of Air Max 1 trainers designed in celebration of Independence Dayin the US.
The design had reportedly been dubbed offensive by former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick for featuring an early version of the American flag designed by Betsy Ross.

New Balance Celebrates Kawhi Leonard’s Move To The Clippers With The OMN1S “Return Of The Fun Guy

Kawhi Leonard shocked the basketball world late last night when it was announced that he’d signed a four-year max deal with the LA Clippers, and then threw even more fuel on the fire when news also broke that he’d be accompanied by Paul George, immediately making the Clippers favorites in the competitive Western Conference. Now, New Balance is celebrating Kawhi’s triumphant return to his home state of California with a brand-new New Balance OMN1S “Return Of The Fun Guy.” Using a Clips-friendly blue base with red trim, the new shoes also feature a white band around the midfoot ....

Vogue Staffers Pick the Most Chic and Comfortable Shoes to Wear to Work This Summer

It’s summer—meaning that people go to work but always want to leave. (There is a great outdoors outside of those skyscraper buildings!) Here at Vogue, footwear plays a big part in this carefree hot-weather attitude. One does not want to be confined to a cubicle, constrained in stuffy, dark-hued, teetering pumps. (Call them foot anvils!) For those with less laissez-faire dress codes, though, it isn’t always permissible to strut into an office wearing a pair of casual-but-chic rubber Havaianas sandals.

InfoEdge-backed startup ShoeKonnect pivoting to fashion B2B marketplace

InfoEdge-backed ShoeKonnect, which connects small offline retailers with manufacturers is pivoting to a fashion and apparel play in the B2B category.

Founded by three Delhi University graduates - Siddharth Vij, Chaitanya Rathi, and Siddharth Rastogi in 2014, later joined by Shubham Agrawal, an IIM graduate as the co-founder, the startup was looking at eliminating wholesalers and middlemen while empowering small retailers to procure directly from local shoe brands.

HIGH-HEELED CROCS ARE NOW A THING

HIGH-HEELED CROCS ARE NOW A THING

“The Cyprus just keeps getting better,” wrote one person. This version has an elegant strap design with a little more top-of-foot coverage and attractive metal hardware around the collar.
“You’ll appreciate the subtle elastic on the straps for a more forgiving fit. And we know you’ll like the Croslite foam foot bed for all of the cushion and comfort it delivers.”
“I love these shoes,” enthused another.
“Never thought anyone would see me in a pair of Crocs, I now have three pairs of these, in different styles, but with the heel.”
However, not everyone was in agreement.
“There are so many sad things going on in the world right now. We didn’t need to add high heel crocs to the list. #crocs,” wrote one person on Twitter.
“High heel Crocs... You are monsters #crocs #fashion #JurassicPark,” added another.
Those seeking the high heel Croc life are best advised to head to Amazon rather than Crocs itself - as in keeping the label's “against all odds” success, they have sold out.

HIGH-HEELED CROCS ARE NOW A THING - HAS FASHION FINALLY GONE TOO FAR?

Crocs might just be the indestructible cockroaches of the fashion industry.
They’ve been relentlessly mocked, teased, turned into memes, and nevertheless, they persisted.
Now, the latest incarnation of the controversial sandals comes in high heel form  - and they’re just as aesthetically displeasing as you’d expect.
While the original Croc vindicates its questionable appearance by marketing itself as a comfort shoe, complete with arch support and a water-friendly design, its fashion-forward counterpart is lacking in such justification, given that heels are notoriously uncomfortable, squishy soles or not.
However, in an admirable display of perseverance, the shoe brand insists that its new high heel variations will provide all-day cushion and comfort.

CROCS ARE NOW AVAILABLE WITH TINY BUMBAGS

Crocs with bumbags are dividing the internet

The pouch can be worn either across the top of your foot or behind your heel

Crocs have found a way to become an even more divisive footwear choice, by incorporating storage onto the backs of the rubber clogs.
In collaboration with Japanese brand Beams, Crocs have released a version of the perforated shoes, available in teal and blue, that come complete with miniature bumbags, known as fanny packs in the US.
Depending on what you need it for, and your style preference, the accompanying pouch can be worn either in the front over the top of your Croc-encased foot, or behind your heel.
But the convenience will cost you, as the Bespoke Pocket Crog cost $53 (£40), slightly more than a typical pair of Crocs which retail for $39.99 (£30).
On social media, the latest Crocs have been met with mixed responses ranging from horror and amusement to appreciation.

I Hate Running, But These Are 4 Running Shoes I Like — And You Will Too

I Hate Running, But These Are 4 Running Shoes I Like — And You Will Too

Working out centers me, it gives a sense of accomplishment and I always feel great leaving the gym. However, I do not enjoy running. It feels more like a chore and I likely wouldn’t do it if I didn’t love pizza so much.
What does get me excited to run is a new pair of sneakers. And lately, there are four models that I find myself lacing up more often than others.
Here are the running shoes from AsicsUnder ArmourSaucony and Brooks that I’ve been enjoying wearing on the road and treadmill.

Nike Pulls USA Flag-Themed Sneaker Amid Controversy About Its Symbolism

Nike Pulls USA Flag-Themed Sneaker Amid Controversy About Its Symbolism

Nike has pulled an American flag-themed sneaker created to celebrate the upcoming Fourth of July holiday.
The Air Max 1 USA was scheduled for release this week ahead of Independence Day. Printed at the heel of the shoe was an American flag with 13 white stars set in a circle — an early design of the United States flag commonly called the “Betsy Ross flag,” which was created during the American Revolution in the 1770s and represents the 13 original colonies.
“Nike has chosen not to release the Air Max 1 Quick Strike Fourth of July as it featured an old version of the American flag,” a Nike spokesperson told FN.

Everything You Need to Know About Paris Couture Week: Alaia, Schiaparelli, Dior & More

Everything You Need to Know About Paris Couture Week: Alaia, Schiaparelli, Dior & More

In a novel twist on Maria Grazia Chiuri’s favorite slogan T-shirts, Dior’s fall ’19 coutureshow opened with a white toga posing the question “Are clothes modern?” As the toga hails from a good millennia or two BC, the collection’s ensuing 1940s-’50s vibe felt positively contemporary by comparison. Which was surely the point, no?
Footwear smartly riffed on the ancient vs. modern theme with crosses between gladiator sandals and fishnet tights. The final look involved a sandwich-board style replica of Dior’s storied 30 Avenue Montaigne façade (the original Paris location of the maison, and also this season’s show venue), which came teamed with what appeared to be a fishnet body stocking.

Midnight00 designer Ada Kokosar hosted a soirée in the top floor VIP space of Galeries Lafayette’s Champs-Élysées outpost on Monday night.
The department store’s creative director, Clara Cornet, told FN that she’d first come across Kokosar on Instagram: “The brand struck me because it felt like nothing I’d ever seen before, and for me that is so rare.”
She added, “When we first met, Ada told me about the night she decided to make her first shoe using a pink satin sleeve she wrapped around the base and then how she went into the kitchen and wrapped a bag around it. That was how she created the brand. And I thought, wow, if that’s not different then
what is?”
